Fastest (Road-Legal) Cars – Top Tens List!

Ever since the first car was built, humans have tried nothing but their best to release an improved model with faster speed, faster acceleration, faster everything! SPEED is the main concept that comes to ones mind when thinking about cars and therefore, many car manufacturing companies today mainly concentrate on the car’s speed performance.

However, like everything else in the world, there are those Top Ten cars that have gained every one’s attention and the list for them is:

#10: Pagani Zonda F

The Pagani Zonda F is the most extensive re-engineering of the Zonda yet, though it still has a lot in common with its predecessors. The Zonda F is named after the Formula One driver ‘Juan Manuel Fangio’ and is currently the 10th fastest road-legal car in the world, as of 2011.

#9: Ferrari Enzo

The Ferrari Enzo is a 12 cylinder mid-engine berlinetta named after the company’s founder Enzo Ferrari is currently the 9th fastest road-legal car in the world. The car is built using Formula One technology allowing the car to reach top speeds of about 217 mph ( km/h). This is also the latest model of Ferrari and for the first time ever, its available in ‘yellow’ colour.

#8: Noble M600

The Noble M600 is a hand-built British supercar made by Noble Automotive in Leicestershire. It is made from stainless steel and carbon fibre. Although it looks like a normal street car, its top speed of  223 mph makes it the 8th fastest road-legal car in the world.

#7: Gumpert Apollo

The Gumpert Apollo is a sports car produced by German auto maker, “Gumpert Sportwagenmanufaktur GmbH” in Alternburg. The car can reach top speeds of over 224 mph and currently ranks as the 7th fastest road-legal car in the world.

#6: McLaren F1

The McLaren F1 is a supercar designed and manufactured by McLaren Automotive. In March, 1998, McLaren F1 set the record for the fastest road-legal car in the world, topping at 231 mph (372 km/h) with ‘rev limiter’ on, and 240 mph (386.24 km/h) with ‘rev limiter’ removed; but as of 2011, the McLaren F1 ranks as the 6th fastest road-legal car in the world. However, despite McLaren’s downfall as far as ranking in speed, it is still a very well known car around the world.

#5: Koenigsegg CCX

The Koenigsegg CCX is a mid-engined roadster from Swedish car manufacturer “Koenigsegg” which is a newer design of Koenigsegg CCR; and it currently ranks as the fifth fastest road-legal car in the world. The ‘CCX’ in Koenigsegg CCX stands for “Competion Coupe X”; the ‘X’ commemorating the 10th anniversary of the completion. A derivative known as the CCXR is also available; the main difference between the two is that CCXR’s engine has been tuned to run on biofuel which allows it to produce 25% more power than the CCX.

#4: Saleen S7 Twin-Turbo

The Saleen S7 Twin Turbo is an updated revision of the original S7 and although the initial concept for S7 was to incorporate twin-turbochargers, they were not used in the production car. Currently, the car claims a top speed of 248 mph (399 km/h) but with the 1,014 PS (746 kW; 1,000 bhp) engine upgrade, there are rumors that the car will reach top speed of over 260 mph (420 km/h). All in all, as of 2011, Saleen S7 Twin-Turbo ranks the fourth fastest road-legal car in the world.

#3: SSC Ultimate Aero TT

SSC Ultimate Aero is an American-built mid-engine supercar by Shelby SuperCars. The higher-performance, limited production version of this car previously held the world record of being fastest production car in the world with a recorded speed of about 256 mph (about 412 km/h); however as of 2011, it ranks the 3rd fastest road-legal car in the world.

#2: Koenigsegg Agera R

The Koenigsegg Agera R was made by Swedish car manufacturer Koenigsegg and as of 2011, it has been ranked the second fastest road-legal car in the world. The ‘R’ Koenigsegg Agera R is in essence a special edition Agera, which runs on bio-fuel rather than petrol.

#1: Bugatti Veyron Super Sport

The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport version is the fastest road-legal car in the world, reaching over approximately 268 mph; whereas the original version of Bugatti Veyron only goes up to approximately 254 mph which ranked as the fastest road-legal car in the world in 2005. The car was designed by the German Volkswagen Group and produced by Bugatti Automobiles SAS. Also, Bugatti Veyron Super Sport has been named as the Car of the Decade by the BBC television programme, “Top Gear”.

    The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport is not the Fastest Street Legal Car in The World it’s the Maxximus G-Force look it up!!!!!
